Our tightly integrated partners support a variety of features in ENPS that make your production workflow seamless. Browse through our partners to see which processes they support.
ActiveX plug-in
This plug-in allows users to preview and search for media from the ENPS user interface.
Additional ActiveX plug-in functionality
ENPS users can discover media stored on a device that supports this process through the use of simple searches within ENPS. When a media description or link is found in ENPS, a user may simply click on the media to view it. The media can be linked to ENPS running orders, stories and assignments by simply dragging it into an ENPS document.
Advanced ActiveX
An expansion of the basic ActiveX functionality to enable dragging and dropping media pointers between the ActiveX control and ENPS documents, as well as the ability to run the plug-in in a detached window.
Automatic placeholder creation
Allows ENPS to automatically create and name placeholders within a partner's server into which finished clips that are ready for playout can later be edited, saved or recorded. The name and other metadata used to automatically create placeholders are drawn from the related ENPS story and running order. Once the placeholder is replaced with actual media, ENPS is then updated with the duration and other information.
Buddy fail-over
Supports automatic redundant operation with both primary and buddy ENPS servers.
Channel assignment
Enables ENPS users to directly assign media playout channels from the ENPS running order.
Drag-and-drop media to NLE timeline
Provides an interface within a partner's NLE product that not only allows an NLE operator to select and display live stories within ENPS, but also allows the NLE operator to drag and drop media contained in the ENPS story to the NLE timeline.
Ingest placeholder creation
Allows ENPS users to create and name placeholders within a partner's server into which media can later be ingested or recorded. Once the placeholder is replaced with actual media, ENPS is then updated with the duration and other information. Placeholders can be used to create "reservations" for material rushes, rough cuts or edits that arrive via ingest applications.
Item status
Sends real-time status information during playback and other functions, which is displayed to ENPS writers and producers in real-time. This includes the use of a minimum set of standard status messages, which enables color coding and the automated movement of the ENPS timing bar.
Media awareness
Sends ENPS a description of the media it stores. The description contains structured metadata and a pointer to the media object and is used by ENPS to return media in search results. Pointers are used to link media to ENPS documents, including stories, running orders and assignments using simple drag-and-drop workflow.
Media search
ENPS is able to send search requests for specific media to this device. The device responds with a list of all media that satisfies the search, along with pointers for each media object. ENPS can use the metadata and pointers to display media in search results, or to link media found via this search method with ENPS documents, including stories, running orders and assignments.
Media thumbnails and preview video
Provides thumbnail images and proxy video, which are closely integrated within the ENPS story display and editing windows.
MOS redirection
Works with ENPS to transfer media between machines and locations using instruction and metadata from ENPS. When stories containing media are moved from one location in ENPS to another, the partner product can automatically transfer the media contained in the stories without further user interaction. This can be used to automatically transfer media between servers and NLE's within a single newsroom, or between multiple newsrooms and production servers in different cities.
NLE placeholder creation
ENPS users can create and name placeholders within a partner's media server into which edited content from an NLE can be saved.
Open MOS redirection
Expands upon MOS redirection to work with ENPS to exchange media files in a variety of formats, working with a variety of other media server vendors.
Round trip archive
Clicking on stories contained in the ENPS archive can retrieve media stored within the product's archive. Media can be automatically restored to the production server or NLE for re-use by dragging the media pointer or story containing a media pointer into an active ENPS running order.
Running order control
Allows ENPS to dynamically build and control a playlist within the media server. Changes to the running order in ENPS result in immediate changes to the sequence of media objects queued for playout by the media server.
Story send
This product uses the full body of text within ENPS documents – including all media pointers and custom metadata – and dynamically tracks the sequence of stories and assignments within active ENPS running orders and assignment grids.
Story write-back
Provides an interface within a partner's NLE product that not only allows an NLE operator to select and display live stories within ENPS, but also to make changes to the ENPS story in the NLE application and have these changes reflected on all ENPS desktops.
Timing bar position
Monitors the position of the timing bar within ENPS and uses it to reflect output information.
Wide media awareness
Expands upon media awareness functionality to include exposing rushes or newly ingested material in addition to produced or approved material to ENPS users and workflows.
